Shillong is one of the most popular tourist destinations. It was the capital of the erstwhile British provincial state of Assam, and remained so even after independence.Shillong derives its name from the peak of the same name and there are many legends surrounding this name.
Day 01: Guwahati Airport/Railway Station to Shillong
Welcomes on arrival at Airport/Railway Station meet our representative and transfer to Shillong (133 KM). Stay over night at Shillong.
Day 02: Excursion Trip to Cherrapunjee
Early this morning after breakfast Excursion trip to Cherrapunji (62 Km), the wettest region in the world receiving highest rainfall. Explore Krem Mawmluh Cave. This cave is located half a km west of Cherrapunjee adjacent to the small hamlet of Mawmluh, has five-river passage with impressive proportions and has a length of over seven Kms. Also visit the Waterfalls of Cherrapunje. Admire the beauty of Cherrapunji, over night at hotel in Shillong.
Day 03: Shillong to Kaziranga
After breakfast proceed to the Borapani Lake & enjoy the Lake. Then start the journey for Kaziranga( 310 Km ). Check in at the hotel of Kaziranga. Evening at leisure, overnight stay at Kaziranga.
Day 04: Kaziranga Jungle Safari & transfer to Nameri
Early morning after breakfast explore central area of Kaziranga park .To do so you can opt for an Elephant Ride or for Jeep Safari, later drive for the Nameri National Park(80 km), the last house of White winged Wood Duck along with many other rare species.. Accommodation will be in the thatched hut in the Eco Camp; adjacent to the Nameri National Park. The Eco Camp itself offers a golden opportunity to live with the nature. Dinner and overnight amidst nature.
Day 05: Nameri to Bomdilla
After breakfast we drive on to Bomdila(125km, 4 hrs). On reaching Bomdilla check in to the hotel for overnight stay. Dinner at the comfort of the hotel
Day 06: Bomdilla Sightseeing & transfer to Tawang
Early morning, we will visit the upper and the lower 'Gompa' (Buddhist Monastery) at Bomdilla. After a leisurely breakfast we depart for Tawang (190km, 6 hrs), the blessed land of Monpa's. Check in at the hotel for overnight stay. At night you can see illuminated Tawang Monastery.
Day 07: Tawang Sightseeing
After breakfast, visit 350years old Buddhist monastery, locally known as Gompa, which seemed to be suspended from heaven in an equally ethereal space. Also visit the nunneries locally called Ani Gompa and Urgelling Monastery, 460 years old Monastery established by lama Urghen Sangpo Bhumthang. It is also the birthplace of His holiness 6th Dalai Lama. Overnight at Tawang.
Day 08: Tawang – Nameri
Morning after breakfast transfer to Nameri (300 km). The Eco Camp itself offers a golden opportunity to live with the nature. Over night at Eco–Camp Nameri.
Day 09: Nameri to Guwahati
Early morning drive to Guwahati (275 km), the gateway to the places of interest and beauty with varied offerings of its own. Visit Kamakhya Temple; where tantricism is still practiced or you can opt to visit Kalakshetra for a Glimpse of Assamese culture & tradition. Overnight at the hotel in Guwahati.
Day 10: Guwahati to Airport (25 Km)/Railway Station
After breakfast drive to the airport or Railway Station to catch your onward flight or Train.
